Pulling Teeth

Growing up's like pulling teeth wisdom comes from agony
Beauty's always right around the corner always out of reach
Comfort is the enemy of progress they say
Life's an itchy sweater and happiness is clay
It's rare to shape perfection on your very first try
But once the wheel is spinning it's a matter of time
Before you see that laughter can stitch up a wound
Know that everything you need
Is right in front of you
I know it's hard to teach an older dog a newer trick
But I won't give up trying 'til I'm comfortable in my skin
I don't want tomorrow to be the one that got away
And I don't wanna die until I learn to love the rain
And love the trees and love the flowers love to breathe and love myself
Love the joy and pain of every card that I've been dealt
The sun'll come out tomorrow there's something about today
There's way too much to live for to throw it all away

There's more to you and me than we could ever understand
