Through with the Past

How long did I live in a dream
How much time did I squander
What made it all fall apart at the seams
What was the spell that I went under
Sometimes I was lost in a bubble
It was the cause of a whole lot of trouble
But that's all right
I feel strong about the future baby
I'm through with the past
How deep are the scars that he gave you
Just how far can one man take it
I'm no knight on a white horse comin' on strong just to save you
But if you take my hand I think we can make it
The proof is when I feel my arms around you
And the truth is I just can't believe I found you
Tonight's the night we get started on the future baby
Cause I'm through with the past
It's a bitter man going backwards
On a wide road straight and long
I don't care what we left back there
I look forward from now on
You know that I'll be anything but perfect
But I swear to you I'm gonna make it worth it
Tonight's the night we get started on the future baby
I'm through with the past yes I am
So turn out the light let's get started on the future baby
I'm through with the past
