Lyrics
0:02Dearest son Henry
0:07Another scorcher in the city today
0:10The lovely bakery on the corner
0:11Has finally re-opened
0:13There are trays of those butter cookies
0:16Your favorite
0:17Shops that were shuttered
0:18Are coming back to life
0:21A year ago I would've thought impossible
0:23But today
0:25Better than before you'll see
0:28It's better than before I thought
0:31Some places that we love had been lost
0:34But then here they are back again
0:40And better than they were
0:43You'll see
0:44It's better than before
0:46And it's not just the places
0:47It's the people
0:49People you used to 'cross a street to avoid
0:52You're happy to see again
0:54New faces in the neighbourhood too
0:57New things surprises
1:00Louie Geno's over on 48th is
1:02Selling something called pizza pie
1:05One of my students says
1:06We'll love it
1:09We'll try it
1:11Now you and I together
1:13We'll be better than we were
1:17'Cause I'll be with you so much more
1:23So don't think I forgot that I wasn't always there
1:27Somewhere playing music
1:29While you waited by the stair
1:31How I took for granted we'd had time to spare
1:38Now I'll take the time to know you
1:43To help you to love you
1:51You'll see you'll see
1:56We'll be better than before
