I was never the type to think that my life
would turn out the way they it did
Frankly if you asked me when I was 16
I honestly thought I’d be dead
But then one thing lead to another
A girl had to lose her father
And in those moments things become so clear
Just hold on to things that are dear
hold on to there who are dear
Cos it's heavy, nobody said it'd be easy
And even the architect made everything to be too much for just one to hold
And just trust me, even if times get so lonely
No wind can shake you when held by the strength of your roots
There’s so much that you’ve set out to do
You’ve got it, you do
I used to think that in order to grow
You take what you love and you learn to let go
But in time I’ve realised it's not so simple
And I used to think if I went with the flow
That life wouldn’t catch me till I’m grey and old
But in time I’ve realised, that it’s more so theatrical
Cos it's heavy, nobody said it'd be easy
