california girl

I'm 'bout to take a quick trip
I think I'm 'bout to bet my life on it
A New York night with a quick sip
A sentimental way to get the DM out
Cute smile and she look pretty
And then I told her Q's my first name
Guess it's the start of a new beginnin'
The last one went left so where you from now?
She told me she's from Redmond
Then hopped into valley
But Cali's where I stay now Kentucky's was detrimental
Told her I'm a Broward baby
She said "Oh God I dated man"
Florida men look weird I said I changed that
But the highway for me is overflowin'
It's loud as a mall I can't focus out here
So I speed through the cars to get to this California girl
This California girl
This California girl
This California girl
This California girl
Ooh ooh
I think I'm 'bout to make a second trip
As I drive I recognize a couple faces
I see a portal from the past year
And that's the passage that really bring me up
Put the pedal on the gas I don't wanna go back
I'm sorry this is all in a big blender
She askin' me "What's takin' long?"
I said I grow wrong
Don't get the wrong impression
I like you but I have some problems
Please excuse me I'm like fragile glass I shattered
Just don't step on these pieces
Wear boots for your protection
I'll clean up this trailer of dust and past addictions
But the highway for me is overflowin'
It's loud as a mall I can't focus out here
So I speed through the cars to get to this California girl
This California girl
This California girl
This California girl
This California girl
And now I'm sittin' on a rooftop in Florida
My eyes on to see the California girl
